It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.
—J.R.R. Tolkien, The Fellowship of the Ring

Today marks the start of the 2026 Arkansas Yarn Crawl, a statewide celebration of independent yarn stores throughout the Natural State. This year, nine (9!!!) stores will be participating in fun, fellowship, and yarn-y goodness between July 17 and 25. Expect trunk shows, events, and giveaways galore.
One of the events I’m most looking forward to is the Fellowship of the Sock Guild Sock Sunday gathering on July 19. Fellowship of the Sock is a knitting group that meets once a month at Arkansas Yarn Co in Malvern. We gather, knit socks, and discuss new and exciting patterns, techniques, yarns, and more. I joined the group this year with my mom, and I’ve loved every second of it.
To celebrate Sock Sunday and express my love for the Fellowship of the Sock Guild, I’ve designed a brand-new knitting pattern for sock lovers — and Tolkien fans — everywhere. The Fellowship of the Socks pattern comes in six sizes to fit foot circumferences 6–11 in (15–28 cm) with zero or negative ease, making it the perfect pattern for Harfoots and Hobbits alike. (In other words, these socks are made to fit toddlers up to big-and-tall adults.)
Featuring a simple yet elegant intertwining ring motif on the leg, these socks are a great introduction to colorwork sock knitting. That, combined with their sporty ribbed cuff and built-in arch support, makes them the perfect pair for any adventure or Unexpected Journey (get it? Like The Hobbit? I’ll stop now.).
Now through July 25, 2026, use code FELLOWSHIP at checkout to save $1 on the Fellowship of the Socks pattern!
My pair was knit with Arkansas Yarn Co’s Yummy Plush base in the Heart of the Shire colorway, with Shire and Malta as the contrast colors. Grab yours here!
